I rode into a town called Terrible
There was something wrong with the air
They were frightened of the Sheriff
But they were terrified by the Mayor
The Mayor’s not the one to worry about
It’s the man from the hotel
He owns a big ranch outside of town
And the dry goods store as well
The blacksmith shoes the horses
He’s the undertaker as well
He tried to leave, so on Christmas eve
They had him forge a jail cell.
The Terrible Mayor is a turncoat
He’d sell you out in a flash
He’s a tantrum tyrant, melts human flesh
Just for waxing his moustache
The Ladies’ Town Committee
For modesty and taste
They say one thing behind your back
And another thing to your face
So if you’re trapped in terrible town
And you’re getting treated low
Don’t stop to pack, just run out the back
As fast as your feet will go
I rode into a town called Terrible
There was something wrong with the air
It stank of lies and burning money
And I’m never going to go back there
